Pick the best plan for your practice

A session is counted each time you generate an AI note or schedule a session with a client, regardless of which method you use.

Telehealth calls made through Upheal also count as sessions, even without a note, since your per-session fee includes the full platform: scheduling, secure payments, and more.

Imported sessions from another EHR are never counted or charged.

Most of the time, Upheal automatically recognizes when a session shouldn’t be charged. For example, if a client doesn’t show up, and you remove the appointment from your calendar, our system will know the session didn’t happen. The same applies if AI note processing fails; you won’t be charged. You can always see your current spend in Settings > Subscription.

However, if we miss something, like a canceled appointment left on your calendar, or a note that didn’t meet your needs, just reach out to Support and let us know. We’ll make sure you’re not charged for that session by issuing a credit to your invoice.

AI Assistant Pro removes the monthly usage cap on AI Assistant chat and automated jobs, so you can use it as much as your practice needs. See the full Free vs. Pro comparison for details.

Usage safeguards apply: If your account’s level of Assistant usage goes far beyond what we expect a single provider should need, we may reach out. If we suspect platform misuse, we may restrict account activity.

We do not read your chats with Upheal Assistant. We only track overall usage statistics to manage our system’s performance and prevent platform abuse.

For pay-per-session plans: The billing cycle follows calendar months. You’ll be charged for a month’s sessions on the first day of the following month. (For example, you’ll be charged on May 1st for all sessions conducted in April.) If you have Assistant Pro, you’ll be charged at the same time, but for the upcoming month, since it’s a flat rate that is paid in advance.

For flat rate plans: Your billing cycle begins the day you purchase a plan. You’ll be charged on that date each month, in advance of your month of usage.

Providers cannot share an individual Upheal account. If your practice has multiple providers and employees, each person needs their own Upheal account within your practice. Sharing an account would be a breach of our Terms of Service, and in that case, Upheal reserves the right to suspend or terminate the account.

Pay-per-session plans: On pay-per-session plans, you’re charged for your sessions after the month is over. If you haven’t paid for sessions held in Upheal past the grace period we provide, you’ll still be able to see and export your records, but you won’t be able to use any of Upheal’s other features, or switch to our Free plan, until your balance is paid.

Flat rate plans: On flat rate plans, you pre-pay for each month of Upheal. If you haven’t paid for your next month while you’re on a flat-rate plan, you can choose to update your payment method, or switch to our Free plan right away.

If you realize that Upheal isn’t the right fit for you, just contact support within 30 days of subscribing to a paid plan, and we’ll refund your payment or cancel pending charges.

Your free trial never ends early, regardless of what plan you choose:

Pay-per-session plans: If you subscribe to a pay-per-session plan during your free trial, sessions are still free during your remaining trial days.

Flat rate plans: If you subscribe to a flat rate plan during your free trial, you won’t be charged until the end of your trial.

We changed how pricing works recently. If you’re on a plan that was previously available, you can still see the details for Starter & Premium flat rate and Premium pay-per-session.

If you’d like to switch from an archived plan to one of our newer plans, just reach out to Support.

If you like your current plan: You’re free to stay on it, and we’ll honor the feature set you agreed to.

If you’re on an annual plan: If you switch from an annual plan, we’ll apply a prorated credit to your account, which will be charged against for your new subscription until it runs out.

If you’re on Starter: Our new AI Notes plan is only $10/month more but has more features available (like telehealth with automatic AI notes, practice forms, and family therapy).

To switch from your archived plan to a newer plan, reach out to Support.

Applicable taxes may be charged depending on your billing location and tax status. Where required by law, Upheal will calculate and collect applicable sales tax, GST, HST, VAT, or similar indirect taxes at the time of billing. If your organization qualifies for a tax exemption, please contact our team and provide the relevant exemption documentation for review.

We don’t support subscription pausing, but you can cancel and resubscribe any time in Settings > Subscription. When you cancel, you’re moved to our Free plan, and you’ll still have access to all your records.

If you’re on a pay-per-session plan (without Assistant Pro), you only pay for what you use, so there’s no need to cancel if you’d like to take a break from Upheal. There’s no minimum charge, even if you don’t hold any sessions. If you have Assistant Pro, you can remove it from your account until you’re ready to come back.

If you cancel while you’re on a plan that’s no longer offered, you’ll need to choose a new plan when you resubscribe.
