About the role:

As a Senior/Staff Product Designer at Upheal, you will focus on delivering end-to-end solutions that align with our goal of becoming the go-to, one-stop-shop platform for mental health professionals.

We’re looking for someone who is a proactive self-starter, has an urge to ship, and can organize themselves and the team to gather all the necessary input to build great solutions. Someone who can think deeply about the product and the market and translate problems into polished solutions that make an impact.

Someone who is at home in both the discovery phase, leveraging the in-house clinical team, user research methods, and design exploration, as well as in the delivery phase, ensuring your designs are annotated, properly handed over, and implemented correctly. You are monitoring what you’ve shipped post-delivery by creating or requesting data dashboards and following up with the research. Someone who cares deeply about what they built, and how to improve it intrinsically, not because it’s required from the company or the team.

Someone who understands the pace and the soul of startups, and while you will get all of the support you will need, you understand that you need to drive things forward and request the help and resources proactively.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end design process, from concept to delivery.
• Conduct continuous product discovery, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and everything in between.
• Cultivate a deep empathy for our users and a strong understanding of their needs.
• Shape product ideas and influence the roadmap and strategy.
• Drive the design of key product initiatives alongside AI, engineering, and product/marketing teams.
• Explore and create novel AI interactions, setting the standard in the mental health space.
• Contribute to our design system and visual language.
• Champion well-crafted, exceptional design.

About you:

• Several years of experience as a product designer at the Senior, Staff, or Lead level.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality designs from start to finish, evidenced by a strong portfolio.
• Strong UX research skills and the ability to translate insights into intuitive designs.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities and a high shipping velocity.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.
• A product builder at heart, with experience in the 0 → 1 stage of product development.
• Deep interest in new technology, with opinions on AI and how it shapes human-computer interactions.
• A self-starter with a natural sense of ownership and a bias for action.
