Change your sign-in email

Change the email you use to sign in to Upheal

Written by Kit Woodin

You can change your sign-in email yourself in a few minutes. You'll need the new inbox, and, if you sign in with a password, the phone on your account. Nothing changes until the last step.

In group practices, only those with the Admin role can change sign-in email addresses.

Change your sign-in email

To change the email address you use to sign in to Upheal:

  1. Go to Settings in the left menu.

  2. Select My profile.

  3. Click Change email under your email address.

  4. Type in your new email address and click Continue with email and password, or, to sign in with a new Google account, click Continue with Google.
Whichever way you sign in here will be how you sign in from now on.

  5. If you selected Continue with email and password, enter the 6-digit code we sent to your new email address and click Continue. The code works for 10 minutes.

If you selected Continue with Google, there is no code to enter.

  6. If you're moving from Google to email and password, add the phone we'll text at sign-in and confirm it with the code we send.

  7. Next, you'll be asked to review your changes. Double check the new email and how you'll sign in. If your practice email is the same as the email you're replacing, you can tick the box next to Also use it as the practice email to update it at the same time.

  8. Next, you'll confirm it's you by entering your current password, and the code that we text to your phone.
If you're switching to a new Google login, you'll sign in with the Google account you use today.

  9. Click Change email.

That's it. You'll be signed out on all your devices, so sign in again with your new email. Your old email gets a note about the change.

If you moved from Google to email and password, one more step: click Set your password on the last screen, or use the link we emailed to your new address. The link works for 4 hours.

If you didn't make this change

If you get an email saying your Upheal sign-in email was changed and it wasn't you, open the link in it and click Lock my account. Nobody can sign in after that, including whoever made the change. Then email us at security@upheal.io with the code from the follow-up email, and we'll restore your original email.

If the change was yours, there's nothing to do.

Good to know

  • After a change, there's a 14-day wait before you can change your email again. If it has to change sooner, contact Support.

  • The email you use to sign in with Google has to be a Google account. To use another address, choose Continue with email and password.

  • In a group practice, or if your practice uses single sign-on, the dialog will ask you to contact Support or your practice administrator instead.

  • Your clients, notes and sessions are not affected. Clients only see your practice email, and only if you chose to update it.
